I’m curious as to why Games Workshop hasn’t released models for the chapter masters of the nine original legions. It seems like only chapters with their own unique model lines, such as the Ultramarines, have dedicated chapter master models. Is there any chance we’ll see models for the remaining first founding chapters in the future?

Honestly, it’s a bit of a mess with the chapter masters. For instance, almost all of the original legions do have representations, except for the Iron Hands and Imperial Fists which are left a bit in the shadows. You’d think they’d get some attention soon, especially since the Iron Hands have a cool lore with Malkaan Feirros being the ‘Master of the Forge’ but not exactly a chapter master.
The short answer is that GW just hasn’t made them yet. Models are usually created for chapters with their own lines, and they often get more lore written about them as well. If the other founding chapters get similar expansions down the line, there’s a good chance they’ll receive their own chapter master models too.
It’s kind of interesting how the perception of these chapters has changed. Historically, everyone focused on the big four: Ultramarines, Dark Angels, Blood Angels, and Space Wolves. Over the years, characters like Shrike and Pedro Kantor have stepped up as leaders, but not all of them are classified as chapter masters. Some only serve as HQ options. Even with the two chapters lacking models, they still have characters like Lysander and Malkaan Feirros who are considered their leaders but may not technically be chapter masters. It’s all pretty convoluted!
Totally! I’m really hoping for that too, especially since I’m just getting into the hobby. Collecting each chapter master would be amazing.
