I’m really struggling to get my mods to work in The Sims 4, and I’ve tried just about everything to fix it. I moved my mods folder out, repaired the game, uninstalled and reinstalled it, deleted the local thumb cache as suggested online, and even redownloaded every mod. While the mods show up as custom content in the game, they don’t appear when I’m actually playing—no Wicked Whims, no custom hair, nothing! I’m at my wit’s end and really don’t want to go back to playing vanilla. What am I missing? Is there something obvious I’m overlooking?

Just a thought, double-check if you have any filters turned on that might hide custom content in CAS or build mode. Sometimes that can be tricky!
Making sure your mods aren’t nested too deeply can be a big help. Are they just in the main mods folder?
They’re definitely in the correct location: C:DocumentsElectronic ArtsThe Sims 4Mods. No subfolders.
Keep in mind, if the game updated recently, you may need to update your mods to match the new version. That’s a common issue!
I already did that—deleted everything and redownloaded. Still no luck!
Have you checked if you’ve enabled mods and script mods in the game settings? It’s an easy thing to miss.
Yes, I turned that off, then restarted, and turned it back on again, but it still isn’t working.
I don’t think I do, but I’ll check again. I want to make sure it’s not accidentally set to hide everything.
