I’m new to Assassin’s Creed Unity and coming off of Rogue, which I thought was pretty solid. However, I feel like the controls in Unity are a massive downgrade. It’s infuriating! I’m supposed to parry when the icon turns yellow, but Arno just ignores my inputs and ends up getting stabbed instead. I can sneak around just fine, but when it comes to combat, it’s a nightmare. One hit and I’m almost dead, which doesn’t seem fair, especially since I don’t have my skills maxed out yet. Seriously, anyone else having this issue or know what I can do?

You need to be patient with Unity’s combat. It’s all about timing your parries rather than spamming them. Make sure you know when to use smoke bombs if things get hairy, as those can really turn the tide in a fight. Avoid areas with high-level enemies until you level up a bit, or you’re just asking for trouble!
The game really does require a more stealthy approach. Unity is designed to punish players if they rush into combat, so take your time and use all the tools at your disposal. Trust me, it’s worth it! If you rely more on stealth, you might find the gameplay much smoother and less frustrating.
I’ve had my share of struggles too! One thing I found is that if you’re low on health, you can’t parry effectively. Just remember you can heal mid-combat with the up button on your D-pad, which helps. Keep an eye on your surroundings too – small objects can get in the way during fights. Focus on avoiding enemies and you can take them out more easily one at a time.
