I’ve been thinking about how different my Rocket League experience used to be. Back in the day, I loved hanging out in the same casual lobbies and playing multiple games in a row. Nowadays, it seems like as soon as the final goal is scored or the time runs out, a lot of players just bail without a second thought. Even in fair and friendly matches, people seem to be in a hurry to start fresh with the next game. Is this about wanting new opponents, or is there something else going on? I play on Steam, and my casual rank is around 1600, with a champion rank in competitive, so I’ve seen a bit of everything!

I get that vibe too! It seems like a trend not just in Rocket League, but in online gaming in general these days. People want quick matches without the chat that builds camaraderie. On consoles, it’s harder to interact with players, so they often just bounce after a match without engaging. Back when I played on consoles, it’d feel different—people stuck around more.
There could be tons of reasons for people leaving right away. Sure, sometimes it’s about ego—players might think their team or the opponents don’t ‘deserve’ a GG. Plus, many just want to keep playing instead of waiting, especially in higher ranks where quick matches are the norm.
I think a lot of players nowadays just want to minimize their downtime. They’ll jump out as soon as a match ends because they can save a few seconds by re-queuing instantly rather than waiting for the scoreboard. It’s almost like they don’t want to waste even that little bit of time!
It’s more about not wanting to wait for the entire team to get ready after the game. That can take a while!
