I’m curious about the reasons behind achievements being disabled when I play with texture packs. It feels like using texture packs shouldn’t be considered cheating, so why does it affect achievements?

In Minecraft, achievements and advancements work a bit differently between Java and Bedrock. On Bedrock, achievements can be disabled by using certain add-ons or enabling gameplay settings that change the core experience like keep inventory or experimental features. On Java, advancements are never disabled, so texture packs shouldn’t affect them. Just make sure you’re not using any settings that might toggle them off!
Just to clarify, achievements in Bedrock can indeed be disabled by modifying gameplay with certain features, but advancements in Java are always active. So, if you’re playing on Java, you shouldn’t worry about texture packs interfering with your progress!
Thanks for the clarification! I appreciate it.
Got it! That makes sense. So, if I’m on Java, I’m good to go with any texture pack, right?
