I’ve been playing Kingdom Come: Deliverance on PlayStation (Royal Edition) for about a year, bought it during a sale. I was drawn back to it because of the upcoming KCD2, which looks amazing! I’m really into the immersive medieval experience the game offers; I like the slower pace and the unique combat, although things can get overwhelming when facing multiple enemies.
What frustrates me the most is the save system. I often find myself dying in fights or failing quests, which forces me to load earlier save files that are 30-60 minutes old. I wish I could save more frequently, especially since I’m quite cautious about losing progress. I’ve heard that the new game might address some of these annoyances, and I’m curious if others feel the same way or if I should just hold off on main quests to grind and level up instead.

The save system really is bothersome. Saying ‘just brew more schnapps’ isn’t a real fix. I feel like it’s just a ploy to increase game time. If you can, try to make use of the ‘save and exit’ feature before tough encounters.
To help with saving, brew a lot of Saviour Schnapps and use it before quests or fights. Also, spend some in-game time with Capt. Bernard to level up your weapon skills; it’s worth the investment!
Honestly, if you’re playing on PC, I’d just mod for unlimited saves. The way the save system works can be super annoying, especially if you’re trying to enjoy the story without too much hassle. But if you’re not on PC, definitely consider the saving tips folks have suggested!
Your struggles are pretty common! The game is designed to make saving a little tricky, which adds to the immersion. Don’t stress too much about failed quests—just let things unfold and learn from your mistakes!
Make sure to look for beds that say “sleep and save.” You can also purchase beds at taverns to get more saving options. Plus, brewing Saviour Schnapps will let you save more freely, which is a must if you’re prone to losing progress!
Using Alchemy to have a good stock of Saviour Schnapps is a game changer for not losing progress!
