I recently switched from Diablo 3 to Diablo 4 around season 4, and up until now, I’ve never really had a problem with needing herbs. However, this season, I find that I can only buy a handful of incense at a time, which is frustrating. I read that legions are a good way to get herbs, so I’ve been running those when they appear, but the rewards seem pretty minimal. I could be missing something here. Are legions really the best method for gathering herbs, or is there something else I should be doing?

I get the same problem! I hit up helltides and collect everything, but I still find myself short. A vendor that could convert some of our currency into herbs would be a game-changer, especially for those nightmare sigils we gather.
Legions can actually drop a good amount of herbs in one go. If you do just a couple of those, you should be good for days!
I recommend sticking to the classic overworld events. Just mixing in some of the orange circle events along with legions should help boost your supply. With all the teleporting to bosses now, we often forget to farm the events that take a bit longer on foot.
Honestly, I don’t even think about herbs any more. I could craft over 600 right now! I pick up herbs during helltides, but I haven’t done many legions this season and still have plenty.
Whispers are definitely the way to go! I found that they have some great materials and gem caches from the tree. Last season, I managed to gather a ton. Helltides aren’t worth the effort for herbs since the drop rates are so low, and you spend too much time picking them up. If you focus on running whispers quickly, you can gather so many more herbs in less time!
I totally agree! I’ve been crafting a ton of Elixirs of Fortitude and needed all those herbs. Helltides just aren’t cutting it.
That’s what’s got me confused! I’ve never run low on herbs like this before.
