As a busy dad with a full-time job, I find it frustrating to get punished for leaving Quickplay matches. Isn’t Quickplay supposed to be casual? I remember during Overwatch 1, this wasn’t an issue at all.

If the game is making you feel tilted, it’s understandable to leave. Just remember, Quickplay should still reflect an effort to play properly. Custom modes are great if you want something with no pressure.
There were penalties in OW1 too, just different. They used to be XP penalties that nobody cared about. If there’s no real consequence, people will keep leaving without worry.
It was definitely an issue in OW1 too. Players used to leave all the time, causing havoc for those who stayed. The penalties now are pretty lenient at first, so if you do need to leave occasionally, you should be fine by the time you come back. But if you leave a lot, that’s when the penalties stack up.
Honestly, if you frequently find yourself leaving, maybe it’s worth trying single-player games instead. You gotta commit to playing your matches, especially if you’ve got a busy life.
Yeah, the developers really tightened up the penalties. Leaving a couple of times may only earn you a couple minutes of suspension, but if you frequently dip, it can escalate to longer bans. Honestly, a short timeout seems fair for all the chaos a leaver can cause for the remaining players.
