I’ve been super frustrated playing this game lately. In my last five matches (including one ranked, two duos, and two limited-time modes), I’ve been constantly matched against masters and predators, even though I’m only Gold 4. My K/D is usually below 1 because I’m not very good, so I don’t get why the matchmaking pairs me with such high-level players. Can someone help me understand why this is happening?

Yeah, this happens sometimes and it’s really annoying. I played a few public matches recently after taking a break and got matched against triple stack teams full of masters and preds three games in a row. It’s like the matchmaking isn’t balancing skill properly in some playlists, especially in casual modes, which can make it super unfair and no fun.
I’m Plat 3 and honestly, I’ve never had a predator show up in my ranked games. However, some people pointed out that it might not be actual preds or masters ranked currently, but players who have those badges while being on accounts that don’t match your level, like a high rank carrying a low-level friend. That might be causing you to see these mixed lobbies sometimes.
I’m a Gold 2 casual player too and I feel you. The lobbies have become ridiculously sweaty with diamonds and even higher ranks showing up all the time. When I try trios it gets even worse. Honestly, it’s driving me away because it feels unplayable unless you’re a hardcore player. It seems like the playerbase has shrunk and only the super competitive people are left playing regularly.
