I’ve been really enjoying The Elder Scrolls Online, but I’m super frustrated with how my werewolf build is performing in battlegrounds. I have about 30k resistances and use major and minor protection for damage mitigation, yet I still feel like I’m getting hit way too hard. I even have 2k crit resistance! What’s going wrong? How can I improve my defense, or is PvP just not viable for werewolves?

Honestly, I agree with you! Werewolves really lack proper tools for effective PvP. It’s hard to stay viable when you can’t heal or cleanse, and I doubt there’ll be any major updates to enhance the werewolf playstyle anytime soon. So I feel you on the frustration!
Sounds like you need to do some tweaking! I run a tank build that usually holds up against several enemies at once, but I recently ran into a vampire Sorc that just melted me—it was wild! It might just be certain builds that get the drop on you, so don’t lose hope!
Yeah, vampire Sorcs can hit hard. It’s not all about resistance; having the right features is crucial. Maybe reassess your setup!
You might want to focus on your positioning during battles. Try using walls for cover while dodging attacks. It’s also a good idea to have skills that boost your mitigation, like Flare and the Swift set, which can give you a nice damage reduction. I noticed that when I stop using those, I feel quite squishy despite my high health and resistances! Plus, healing quickly enough to outpace enemy damage is key. A strong combo for a Sorc is using a magicka recovery set with Oakensoul, spamming defensive runes, and utilizing major breach to control the battlefield.
I run a healing build specifically for PvP, and honestly, I find that a well-constructed tank still has some great survivability. But I think healing is a bit too strong right now. Maybe focus more on your defensive setup while ensuring you’re also getting healed frequently to keep up with the damage onslaught from others.
I’ve never played werewolf, but I use a poison-based build that tends to counter them pretty well. From my perspective, if you’re sitting at 30k resistances, you might still be a bit low against certain setups. Also, make sure you’re purging poisons when you get hit by them, as that can really help mitigate damage!
To be honest, the werewolf situation isn’t great. The build really limits what you can do in PvP, especially since you lack vital skills like hot heals and cleanses. Once subclassing comes out, it might become even tougher for werewolves, so it’s crucial to know that going in. Unless ZOS makes some significant changes, we might just have to deal with this for a while.
Yeah, I’ve heard that everyone’s going to be able to create much stronger builds soon, while werewolves are stuck with a limited kit. It feels pretty one-sided.
Wait, werewolves can’t cleanse? That’s wild! I had no idea that was such a limitation.
