I’ve been diving back into my favorite game, but I’ve been hit with some serious frame drops—happening every 10-15 seconds, which is really disrupting my flow. Normally, I get about 120-150 frames when things are running smoothly, but this annoying issue popped up about a week ago. I’ve been playing on PC since Shadowkeep, and I’ve never faced any problems like this before. I’ve done a ton of troubleshooting, like lowering settings for better performance, clearing the game cache, verifying files, and even updating all my drivers. I made sure no other apps are running while I play, but the drops still happen, albeit maybe a bit less. I’m at my wit’s end! Any suggestions to fix this?

Since you mention this started recently, have you looked at your Windows update history? If there’s been a recent update, it might be causing the issues. You can check if anyone else has reported problems with that update and maybe uninstall it if it’s optional.
Could you share your specs? It might help to identify if there’s a hardware bottleneck playing a role in the frame drops.
First off, have you checked your anti-virus settings? Sometimes they can interfere with games by scanning files while you play. Also, looking through your network settings might help too. Lastly, did you check the Windows Game Bar settings? That can sometimes cause performance hiccups.
I have no clue about computers! What should I actually look for in the anti-virus settings? And I haven’t really checked the Game Bar—where do I find that?
Sure thing! I have an 11th gen Intel i7-11800H running at 2.30GHz and 16GB of RAM.
