I’ve been playing Minecraft and recently started getting a message that says, ‘We can’t save any more data for this game.’ It happened a few days ago and now I’m seeing the same message when I play Skyrim. My Xbox indicates that I need to clear space, but I have almost 500GB available, and no downloads are pending. Although there’s something mentioned as 8.9GB of ‘space savings’ for Skyrim, I’m unsure if that’s occupied space or free space. I’ve read that I might need to clear cache, local save data, or reserved space, but I’m not clear on how that would affect my games. Right now, I’m not having trouble playing games or creating new saves, just dealing with these annoying pop-ups. Any advice would be appreciated!

Just a heads up, the storage on your Xbox isn’t entirely available for game saves. Xbox reserves a portion of your local storage for saves, which can lead to this message popping up. Basically, the game saves interact with the cloud, but they need a local cache, which Microsoft doesn’t do a good job of letting you monitor. You can try clearing all saves for all games to give your games more storage to work with. If you get the error after that, then your save files might just be too large for the limited local cache space.
When you’re getting that message on Xbox, it’s usually because games have a limit on how much auxiliary data they can store, like saves and downloads. Since you have some games you might not play anymore, try removing any old worlds or unused marketplace content from Minecraft. You can always redownload them if you change your mind later!
Thanks, I suspected something like that! I got the message in Skyrim, but it popped up in-game instead of through my Xbox.
I’m worried about losing my progress if I delete all saves. Are my saves backed up in the cloud, or do I need to do that manually?
