I’m really frustrated with how the game handles the campaign transitions. I’m trying to level up and get exalted with the Court of Harvesters for a mount, and while I’m deep into a quest in the Maw, Chromie suddenly pops up and yanks me away to Stormwind with a countdown timer. It’s annoying because there’s no option to decline this forced transition; I want to continue with the campaign I’ve been enjoying. If I wanted to move to the new content, I would have used a teleport scroll to start it on my own! It’s super frustrating to be pulled out of the old content right as I’m making progress, especially when the gnome doing it is so annoying. Also, once I hit level 71, the quests I was doing no longer give me scaled rewards, which is just a pain. I know I can return to the zone later, but I wish Chromie would just let me play without interruption.

Once you hit level 71, it means you’ve outgrown Chromie Time. The good news is that you’ll find leveling will feel much easier since the mobs will be lower than your level. You can always jump back into Shadowlands later. Just keep in mind you might need to track down some low-level quests.
For future reference, if you ever want to try Chromie Time on another character, there’s an NPC in Stormwind that can freeze your XP gain. This way, you won’t accidentally level out of Chromie Time. Just talk to that NPC again when you want to gain XP. I usually freeze mine a few levels before I hit the cap so I can finish all my quests.
If you’re worried about over-leveling and making the old quests too easy, just lock your experience gain!
But I’d like to actually experience the content without it becoming too trivial, you know?
