I recently upgraded to a PS5 and I’m part of a family plan with my dad. On the PS4, even though my account had age restrictions, I could still play games purchased through his account without issues. But now, after both of us logged into the PS5, I’m blocked from doing anything online or accessing content due to age restrictions. We tried setting my account to “no restrictions” in the settings, hoping that would fix it, but it didn’t help. I even have to play my games by logging in through his account again. Has anyone else experienced this or knows how to fix it? Any advice would be really appreciated.

Since your dad’s account is the main one, the first thing to try is disabling restrictions on his account too. Sometimes the family manager’s settings override the sub accounts on PS5. Another approach is to designate your PS5 as the primary console for your dad’s account and then add your account as a secondary one. That setup often helps with sharing content without restrictions. If none of that works, you might need to reach out to PlayStation support because it sounds like a glitch or a stricter enforcement with the PS5 compared to PS4.

Yeah, we already tried making sure both accounts had no restrictions by following a guide I found, but it didn’t solve the problem. I’ve seen lots of others had smooth transitions, so this might be unique to our setup. I’ll probably have to contact support at this point.
