I’ve been using Emulation Station DE on my gaming deck since last year without any issues. I breezed through games ranging from NES to GameCube, and everything ran smoothly. However, recently I’ve started encountering random performance stutters when I play any game. Even the oldest games are experiencing these brief freezes, where the audio skips and the game lags for a moment. This is really frustrating, especially since the same games worked perfectly before. Does anyone have an idea of what’s happening or how I can fix this?

Another thing to consider is whether the emulators are having the same issues when not using the ES-DE frontend. You might want to test that out to see if the problem is specific to the frontend or if it’s more widespread.
Have you checked if you’ve set a global performance tweak in the settings? I found that capping the framerate to 60fps really improved my experience with ES-DE. Maybe give that a try!
I don’t think I’ve done that. I’ll look into it!
Haven’t tried that yet. How can I launch them outside of ES-DE?
