Hey everyone! I recently built a new gaming PC with a Ryzen 7 9800x3D processor and an RTX 5080 graphics card, along with 32GB of RAM. However, I’ve been noticing some frustrating FPS drops while playing. My temperatures stay around 55 degrees, but during gameplay, the FPS can drop dramatically from 180 to around 20 for just a moment, and it really affects my experience, especially in intense fight scenes. I’ve tried adjusting various settings, but nothing seems to help. Has anyone else run into similar issues? What can I do to resolve this?

I’m experiencing something similar! I’ve got a 5070 Ti, 32GB of RAM, and an AMD Ryzen 7 7700X, and I’ve noticed my FPS tanking into the 20s sometimes, even while just sailing around. My temps are around the low to mid 60s, and my ping spikes for no reason too. It’s weird, because my other online games run perfectly fine with low ping. Seems like there’s some odd issues going on for a lot of us.
Welcome to Sea of Thieves! It’s definitely been a rough ride with performance over the updates. The game’s updates have caused a lot of issues, and many players are facing similar FPS drops. It’s not about your drivers or hardware—it’s just the game acting up. Hang in there!
Honestly, it sounds like classic Sea of Thieves problems. Don’t stress too much about it. It’s known that updates have messed with performance in the past, and while some fixes have been rolled out, it’s still not perfect for everyone. Your hardware is fine, it’s just the game being the game.
Yeah, I think the ping problems are likely due to server issues with the game itself.
