I’m trying to decide between getting an Xbox Series X or an Xbox Series S (probably second-hand) for my birthday. I mainly want to play Fortnite and Minecraft. Right now, I’m on an Xbox One, getting 60 frames on a 75Hz monitor, but I’ve just upgraded to a 180Hz monitor. I’ve heard that while both next-gen Xboxes are capped at 120 frames, the Series X offers better performance, while the Series S provides better value for money. Any advice on which one I should go for would be really appreciated!

I’d always lean towards the Series X. It just feels like a safer investment for the future. You’ll have access to better performance if you decide to play other games down the line.
Honestly, you don’t need a Series X to enjoy Fortnite or Minecraft. The Series S can run these games just fine, especially if you’re just looking for better framerates than your current setup.
If you’re thinking long-term, I’d say go with the Series X. It’s going to offer better performance for more demanding games down the line, and you’ll likely avoid another upgrade sooner than you would with the Series S.
Deciding between the two really depends on how much you’re looking to squeeze out of your gaming. If it’s just Fortnite and Minecraft, then the Series S could be a smart choice, especially since it focuses on value.
