I’ve been farming Steel Path Gabbii for Orokin Cells using my classic Nekros setup with Kohm, Pyranna Prime, and Gram Prime, but I’m finding the kill speed pretty slow even after 5 minutes. I came across a build recommending Amalgam Ripkas along with weapons like the Tenet Arca Plasmor, but I struggle to get it working as described. The Arca Plasmor causes a lot of body disintegration and sometimes hits critical spots that prevent dismemberment, which is key for maximizing Desecrate drops. I’m avoiding heat and corrosive procs to prevent disintegration and not relying on slash procs despite Ripkas helping with that. Most beam weapons seem to disintegrate bodies rather than dismember, and slash weapons like the Phenor and Dual Toxocyst feel inconsistent. I’m not sure if the problem is my weapon choices or build approach since Kronen/Praedo with high mods and no Weeping Wounds feels more reliable but slower. Any advice on weapons that consistently trigger dismember with Nekros Desecrate and Amalgam Ripkas would be awesome!

Remember that Desecrate processes corpse targets at a fixed rate of 3 per second. If you kill faster than that, the bodies pile up and start dissolving on their own, so over-slashing enemies to create more targets might actually hurt your efficiency. Basically, unless you’re trying to farm a super rare drop from a specific enemy or struggling with spawn rates, adding extra dismemberment doesn’t necessarily help. It’s more of a niche optimization than a must-have for most farming setups. Also, when playing solo, managing spawn flow and kill speed is trickier, so focusing on reliable, fast-clear weapons rather than perfect dismember combos might be better in the long run.
Just a heads up — if enemies die from damage over time effects (like DOT procs), they won’t dismember even with Amalgam Ripkas. Infested enemies are especially wonky; they don’t always bisect consistently with heat, slash, or toxin statuses, unlike humanoids. So, if you’re running Steel Path, you might want to focus on a weapon with solid physical damage and avoid DOT-based kills. Players often suggest weapons like the Strun or Braton because they offer straightforward damage without too many pesky status procs, though some mention inconsistency there too. Honestly, a balanced primary with viral, magnetic, or blast damage and high base damage will give you better results than trying to force slash procs in this case.
The key with Amalgam Ripkas is that it lets any kills you make dismember enemies, not just the Ripkas itself. So you don’t really need to kill enemies with the Ripkas; instead, pick a solid primary that kills cleanly without status effects that cause disintegration, like heat or radiation. Viral, magnetic, and blast statuses tend to work well here. For example, a Kuva Bramma or Kuva Tonkor built with those statuses should work nicely. Your Kuva Kohm shouldn’t have trouble either if you build it with Primary Crux and the right mods to avoid undesirable status effects.
