Hey everyone, I’m trying to figure out which version of SteamOS firmware currently delivers the best FPS performance for gaming. I’ve heard that version 3.5.7 was known for top performance, but I’m wondering if that’s still true or if newer versions have improved things. Also, any tips on updating to optimize performance would be appreciated!

From what I’ve seen, it’s usually best to stick with the latest stable SteamOS firmware. Valve tends to roll out improvements and optimizations with each update, so running the newest version can give you the best overall performance and compatibility.
Definitely update through desktop mode if you can. Updates done there often include important graphics stack updates like Mesa drivers, which can make a noticeable difference in FPS and stability.
That’s good to know! Should I update via desktop mode or gaming mode, or does it not matter?
