I’ve always loved The Sims, especially the first one. Building houses was my favorite part, and I didn’t care much about developing characters or keeping them alive. I’m wondering if there’s a newer version where house building is a key focus. I use a MacBook Pro, so I’d prefer a version that runs well on that. I really don’t know much about the different versions out there – could anyone give me some insights?

If you’re into building, The Sims 4 is definitely the best choice! Its build mode is fantastic, and you can really unleash your creativity. Plus, fun fact: the base game is free, so you can start without any cost!
While Sims 1 is nostalgic, it’s pretty basic by today’s standards. Sims 2 is a favorite for its gameplay, but the building features aren’t as great. If you’re primarily focusing on buildings, Sims 4 would be better since it has the best controls and custom mods can enhance the experience. Just know that Sims 2 might not work well on Macs without some tweaks.
I’ve got it running fine on my Mac, and modding is super simple! My Mac’s loaded with RAM, which helps.
Honestly, Sims 4 has some fun building options, but gameplay can be pretty lacking. It’s a mixed bag, but if building is truly what you care about, go for it!
Yeah, and the build mode in Sims 4 is way more user-friendly compared to the earlier games!
