I’m gearing up to build a new gaming PC and I’m torn between different RTX 5080 variants. Brands like Gigabyte and ASUS have a few options, such as the Gigabyte Gaming OC and AORUS. I’m particularly interested in which variant offers the best cooling and performance. For context, here’s my current setup, which I plan to upgrade:
– GPU: Gigabyte RTX 3060 Ti Eagle OC
– CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
– RAM: T-Force Delta RGB DDR4 32GB
– Motherboard: ASUS TUF Gaming B550-Plus
– Storage: WD Black SN850 2TB (M.2 NVMe), WD Blue 1TB (M.2)
– Power Supply: Cooler Master 650W Bronze
– Case: CORSAIR Carbide Series SPEC-DELTA RGB Mid-Tower
Right now, I’m considering:
– Gigabyte AORUS RTX 5080
– Gigabyte Gaming OC RTX 5080
– ASUS ROG Astral RTX 5080
Any thoughts on which one to go for?

I’d suggest looking into the Zotac model as well. It’s often cheaper than the ASUS ones and still packs a punch. I’ve got it running, and it stays cool under stress, even when rendering in Blender—couldn’t get it past 55 degrees Celsius, even during heavy loads! Plus, it’s a solid performer overall.
I think the Gigabyte Gaming OC is your best bet out of these! It performs well and has solid cooling, but honestly, most of them are pretty similar in performance, typically within a couple percent of each other, so you can’t go too wrong! Just check prices and go for the one that fits your budget best.
I was hoping for the Founders Edition myself, but it seems like they’re hard to find right now. Most stores only have the other variants. Keep an eye on the stock, though! Prices can vary a lot, so the cheaper you can snag one for, the better.
