I’m looking for recommendations on which Resident Evil remake to dive into after finishing RE4 and its Separate Ways DLC. I’ve already played the remakes of RE2 and RE3. What should I try next?

If you’re enjoying the modern Resident Evil games, RE7 and RE8 are definitely the way to go! They capture that same intense atmosphere and engaging gameplay that you found in RE4. I would recommend playing those first, and then maybe circle back to the classics like the original RE4 and 5. Some players say RE6 isn’t worth your time, so take that into consideration too.
If you have a buddy to team up with, playing RE5 can be a blast. It’s a fun co-op experience, though RE6 is generally seen as a low point for the series. Just a heads-up if you’re thinking about diving into them! Stick with RE7 and RE8 for a great blend of what’s current in Resident Evil.
I’d say go for the RE1 Remake if you’re in the mood for something classic. It’s got its own vibe compared to the newer games, but it’s really a great experience once you get into it. However, if you want something closer to the gameplay style of RE4, definitely check out RE7 and RE8. They’re much more in line with modern gameplay and would feel more familiar after what you’ve just played.
