Hey everyone! I’ve got a powerful setup with a 4070 Ti and a 9800x3d, and I’m looking to buy a new 1440p monitor to get the best performance out of CS2. I’m torn between going for a 480Hz OLED, a 360Hz OLED, or a 240Hz OLED display. Given that my game will likely run around 450-500 fps with occasional dips to about 350-400, what refresh rate would you recommend as the best option?

If you can afford a 480Hz panel, why not go for it? You can always run it at a lower refresh rate if needed, but it’ll future-proof you a bit. Plus, CS2 will really shine with those high frame rates!
You’ve got an amazing setup, so I’d say don’t hold back! You’re playing CS2 with top-tier hardware that can easily handle high FPS, so getting a 480Hz display would let you really enjoy every frame. Why compromise now, right? It’s like buying a sports car and using regular gas—you want to make the most of it!
Honestly, 240Hz should be more than enough for your needs. Most players won’t notice a huge difference beyond that unless you’re a hardcore pro. Just focus on getting a solid monitor without overthinking the refresh rate too much!
Thanks for your insight!
If they’re all the same price, definitely get the best you can. But don’t stretch your budget too much just to hit higher than 240Hz. I have a 360Hz monitor, and honestly, the boost over 240Hz isn’t that significant unless you’re right next to both monitors. It’s a subtle improvement.
That said, if you’re already investing in a great rig, maybe it’s worth going for the 480Hz just to push your frames to the max!
I appreciate your feedback, I’ll think about that!
Great point, thanks for the motivation!
