I’ve been deep into theory crafting lately, and I’m curious if you’ve noticed any sets that weren’t really useful before but have become strong options with the addition of subclassing. For example, I’ve been thinking about how animal companions could enhance a necromancer or how ardent flame could work well with a Nightblade. What do you all think?

I’ve noticed that Aetheric Lancer and Pyrobrand from the Imperial Army really gained some traction, especially for Templars and Dragon Knights. For PvP, Mechanical Acuity and Wretched Vitality are still solid choices. Rally Cry remains powerful, but Farstrider might emerge as a counter to it. Bloodspawn is gaining popularity over Balorgh as well. I personally enjoy Warmaiden on my magplarblade; it’s not very common, but it performs nicely. Sets like Oakenfather and Shattered Fate are also making waves, along with Essence Thief. Wyrd Tree might start getting more love for its cleanse capabilities, especially if folks aren’t using a resto light or animal companions. Still lots of testing going on, so I’m curious to see what else comes to the forefront!
Nice! I’m running Oakenfather on two builds and I’m really enjoying it. I’ve also heard good things about Frostbite for ice builds—thinking about giving that a shot! I’m kind of intrigued by Wyrd Tree, Aetheric Lancer, and Pyrobrand since I haven’t looked into them much. Do you think I could swap out Farstrider for Dragon’s Appetite on a build centered around the Unleashed Terror set?
