I’ve got a list of 8 games I’m interested in playing but can’t decide which one to start with. The games are: Undertale, Dredge, Outer Worlds, Dead Cells, Dishonored, Hades, Ark Ascended (I’ve played the original Ark before), and Abiotic Factor. They’re all pretty different genres and not in any particular order. Would love some advice on which one might be the best pick to jump into first!

If you’re in the mood for a solid RPG experience that’ll keep you invested for a while, Outer Worlds is a great choice. It has a classic RPG feel with a compelling story and awesome world-building. Plus, if you’re a fan of story-driven games, Dishonored is amazing, especially if stealth gameplay interests you. Both offer really strong narratives and engaging gameplay loops, so you could consider playing both if time allows.
Just to add, I’m leaning towards something with a strong story but also cool gameplay mechanics. Any suggestions on balancing those aspects? Appreciate all the advice so far!
For me, Hades and Dead Cells are the standouts in terms of addictive gameplay. Both have that roguelike action that kept me hooked for hundreds of hours. Personally, Undertale didn’t grab me much, so I dropped it after a few hours, but Hades especially is fantastic if you enjoy fast-paced combat mixed with compelling story elements.
I’d recommend starting with Undertale if you want something shorter and unique. It’s not super long compared to the others, so it’s easier to finish without investing a massive amount of time. Plus, the soundtrack is legendary, and the story has some unforgettable moments. If you’re looking for a quick, memorable journey, it’s a safe bet.
Thanks for the insight! I appreciate the differing tastes here—it’s helpful to hear about what kept you playing for so long.
