I’m currently using a Dell G15 with 16GB RAM, 1.5TB of storage, and an Nvidia 1070ti. I’m thinking about upgrading to a new laptop with 32GB of RAM and 1-2TB of memory. I’m particularly interested in either the Alienware m16/x16 or the Lenovo Legion 5i. I mostly play games like Madden, CK3, BG3, and Hogwarts Legacy (which I can no longer run), and I also use AutoCAD Civil 3D and various D&D VTTs. It’s important that my new laptop is versatile and long-lasting, and my budget is up to $2500, ideally under $2000.

Both the Alienware and Legion are solid choices! The RTX 4070 is a good mid-range option. Depending on the price differences, you might even opt for a model with just 16GB of RAM and upgrade it yourself later on the cheap through Amazon. By the way, keep in mind the 5070ti models are set to launch soon – they might even be available for around $2,000!
I totally forgot about the 5070ti release! If you’re flexible with RAM and storage, it sounds like you could get a 1TB SSD now and add another one later when you get your bonus. No rush then, especially since your current laptop is still doing well!
