I’m trying to decide between the MSI Katana 15 and the ROG Strix 17 for gaming and productivity. Here are the specs:
**MSI Katana 15**
– **CPU:** I9-13900H
– **GPU:** RTX 4070 (105W)
– **RAM:** 16GB
– **Display:** 15.6 inch (2560×1440)
– **Storage:** 1TB
**ROG Strix 17**
– **CPU:** Ryzen 9 7940HX
– **GPU:** RTX 4060 (140W)
– **RAM:** 16GB
– **Display:** 17.3 inch (2560×1440)
– **Storage:** 1TB
From what I’ve gathered, the ROG might have a better display, but the MSI seems to offer the stronger GPU at a lower price. What do you think?

I’d say go for the MSI! It’s got that better GPU for a lower price, and for gaming, the graphics card is usually more important than the display. Just be careful with the hinges—make sure to close it from the center, and don’t slam it!
Honestly, I’d lean towards the ROG depending on how you use your laptop. Even though MSI seems solid, I’m a bit wary of their build quality, especially the hinges. But I’ve heard good things about the Katana too, so it might be a valid choice if you handle it carefully!
If you’re mainly gaming, the MSI’s GPU power might be the way to go. Just remember the ROG’s TDP is 140, which could mean better performance in some scenarios, but overall, the 4070 should still hold up stronger.
I appreciate the input! I do plan to open and close it quite a bit, so I’ll be cautious.
