Hey everyone! I’m looking to buy a new laptop for tasks related to CAD, architectural renderings, 3D modeling, and some casual gaming. I’m considering two options:
1. ASUS TUF A15 with Ryzen 7, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, and RTX 3050.
2. GIGABYTE G5 MF5 with i7 13620H, 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD, and RTX 4050.
The Gigabyte has some impressive specs for a similar price, but I’ve come across quite a few negative reviews about it. I’d really appreciate any insights to help me make a decision!

I’d recommend going for the ASUS TUF A15, especially with the RTX 4060 option that has a 165Hz QHD screen. It was around 990€ in Europe, which is a solid deal. Just a heads up that battery life isn’t great without an iGPU—usually about 2-3 hours. But if you’re focused on performance, it’s worth it!
Be cautious with the Gigabyte G5; reports say its thermals are pretty rough, and customer service isn’t helpful either. It may not perform as well as the ASUS TUF A15 for your needs in CAD and 3D work. Just make sure to check the service options in your area before making a decision.—it could save you a lot of trouble!
Is the A15 really much worse for CAD and rendering tasks? Any other models you’d suggest?
Thanks for the advice! I’ll look into that specific model of the A15.
