I’m currently in the market for a laptop and I noticed that many discounted options in my area feature Intel CPUs. I know Ryzen HS CPUs are known for better battery life, but I’m curious about which Intel CPUs I should consider if I want a solid mix of performance and good battery life. Any suggestions?

Check out the more recent Intel Ultra series CPUs. They tend to offer a nice balance between power and battery efficiency. Look for models labeled with ‘Core Ultra’ followed by a number in the 200s, like the 255H, as those are part of the newer lineup.
