Which GPU Should I Choose: RX6700 XT or RTX 3070?

-

I’m looking to build a 1440p gaming PC and found a used RX6700 XT for $179 and an RTX 3070 for $214. Which one of these should I go for? Did I miss out on the best deal?

Honestly, neither of these cards might cut it for 1440p if you’re looking to play newer AAA titles, especially with Unreal Engine 5 being as demanding as it is. If you’re mainly into esports games, then they could work, but for longevity with AAA titles, I’d suggest aiming for at least a 7800 XT.

I’d definitely go with the RX6700 XT! It’s a bit slower than the RTX 3070 according to some benchmarks, but it has 12GB of VRAM, which is a plus. I run mine at 1440p, and while newer games can require you to drop settings to medium or low, it holds up pretty well overall.
