I’m trying to decide between the RX 9070 and the RTX 5070, as they are both priced the same. I’m particularly interested in whether it’s worth sacrificing the Nvidia features for the additional 4GB of VRAM that the RX 9070 offers. I plan to use ray tracing in supported games and prefer playing at native resolution without any upscaling. Any advice?

Honestly, the 5070 has some great features like DLSS and frame generation that can really boost your performance. While 12GB of VRAM should be enough for now, if you want to future-proof a bit, the 5070 might be the better long-term investment, especially for ray tracing. But it’s all about what matters most to you!
If you care more about software support, definitely consider the 5070. DLSS and FSR can help a lot, but I totally get wanting to avoid upscaling—it’s a personal preference. If you can wait, a slightly higher-end model might give you both performance and VRAM!
I can’t push the choice out much longer; I’m on a tight schedule to upgrade my GPU!
I’d say go with the RX 9070! It generally performs well, especially if you’re looking for more VRAM. Plus, if you’re not planning to rely on Nvidia’s features, that extra memory could come in handy down the road.
I was leaning toward the RX 9070 too, seems like a solid choice!
Yeah, AMD’s RT performance has definitely improved, but I’m still leaning toward the RX 9070 for that extra VRAM.
