I’m trying to decide between the 5070 Ti and the 9070 XT, and I’ve found both cards available at similar prices. Which one should I go for? What are the key differences in performance, especially regarding gaming, ray tracing, and upscaling?

I own the 9070 XT and generally agree, but I think the 5070 Ti takes the crown with DLSS outperforming FSR, better ray tracing performance, and solid overclocking capabilities. If they’re the same price, I’d lean towards the 5070 Ti. If the 9070 XT is cheaper by 5-10% and you’re not concerned with ray tracing or slightly inferior upscaling, then go with the 9070 XT.
The 5070 Ti seems like a better pick for gaming overall—it has an advantage in most benchmarks. The 9070 XT only holds its ground in raster performance. For me, ray tracing and DLSS capabilities are big factors, and NVIDIA takes that lead.
Performance-wise, both cards are closely matched, but there’s some distinction. The 5070 Ti excels in ray tracing and has better upscaling capabilities. If you’re into frame generation, NVIDIA has the edge there too. However, the 9070 XT typically benefits from superior driver reliability and doesn’t use the 12v High Failure Rate connector as much. It really comes down to what you value more—optimized performance or driver experience.
For pure gaming, the 5070 Ti wins almost everywhere, particularly in ray tracing and power efficiency. If you’re looking at gaming as the main focus, it’s hard to justify choosing the 9070 XT over the 5070 Ti but consider your priorities.
