I’m curious about your experiences with games that seemed amazing at first but eventually fell off for you. For me, I was really into “Dave the Diver”, “Dredge”, and “Cult of the Lamb”, but I dropped them about halfway through. Right now, I’m considering reinstalling “Dave the Diver” to give it another shot. What about you?

“Final Fantasy XVI” started off great with the demo, but after about 20 hours, I found the combat kinda stagnant and the plot dragged on. I managed to push through the midgame but dropped it towards the end—it was a bore fest, even with a solid story.
“Hollow Knight” was another one for me. I wasn’t in the right headspace when I first played it, but when I tried again years later, I couldn’t put it down—it’s all about the timing!
Haven’t gone back to it yet, but I’ve heard it gets really good if you stick with it.
I can relate with “Cult of the Lamb”—it hooked me initially but then just lost its spark midway. The game felt a bit pointless after a while, and I found myself deleting it around the halfway point.
Same! I felt it just dragged on and became repetitive.
Honestly, I found it picked up the more I built my cult, but it did feel like it overstayed its welcome a bit.
“Dying Light 2” was so much fun until I hit the second region. The dialogues took a nose dive, and I lost all interest after that. I keep thinking about jumping back in since it’s on PS Extra, but the game just hasn’t drawn me back in.
Totally feel you! After the windmill, the excitement just dropped for me too.
I had such high hopes but struggled with the second map. It was overwhelming.
“Deathloop” definitely hit hard in the beginning, but I got a bit frustrated when I realized I had to repeat the same areas nonstop with the same easy enemies. After a while, I just couldn’t keep up with the same routine—like, it dropped from being a 9 to a 6 for me. What about you guys?
I kind of liked it with a guide; it made things clearer. Otherwise, I would have just lost interest from repeating everything. Anyone else feel that way?
Yeah, I felt the same. The constant replays just turned me off pretty quick.
Same here—got bored but the story was good. Too much filler, though.
