I’ve been reflecting on the games I’ve bought more than once. For instance, I’ve got multiple copies of Skyrim on different platforms like 360, PS4, PSVR, Switch, and Steam. Similarly, I’ve repurchased some PS4 titles on PC to optimize gaming performance on my new system. I also have various versions of Super Mario 3D All-Stars in both its original formats and digital collection. I’m curious if others have a similar habit. Do you buy games multiple times due to remasters, platform changes, or just out of sheer love for the game?

Resident Evil 4 is one game I’ve bought over and over! I started with the GameCube version and then got it again on Steam, Switch, and the recent Quest 2 for VR. Each version offers something new, especially the VR adaptation. It’s just a classic, so I keep supporting its releases.
Chrono Trigger is hands down an eternal favorite, I’ve bought it in almost every format it’s been released because of its timeless charm. From SNES to DS, and even on mobile, it remains one of the best RPGs ever.
Agreed! The DS version is the pinnacle release, in my opinion, capturing all that magic.
Grand Theft Auto V is a big one for me. Own it on Xbox 360, PS4, and PC. I enjoy revisiting the storyline every few years because it’s honestly that good. I don’t even bother with GTA Online; the single-player mode is what keeps me coming back!
For me, it’s definitely Stardew Valley. I have multiple copies across various platforms: Xbox, Switch, Playstation, iOS, Android, and Steam. It’s just such a joy to play no matter where I am that I can’t resist having it everywhere. Seriously, the developer has done a fantastic job so I don’t mind supporting them this much. Plus, it has tremendous replay value!
Another game I’ve invested in several times is Slay the Spire. I’ve got it on PC, phone, and Switch, and I’ve even gifted it multiple times. It’s such a perfectly crafted game that I can’t help but spread the love to others.
As a Destiny 1 enthusiast, I had to buy the disc copy, then digital after my disc play failed. Countless hours in multiplayer and the expansion kept pulling me back, even as consoles changed.
I’ve heard the VR version is worth checking out, particularly with the added immersion. It does seem easier than the original though, right?
