I’m wrapping up my first playthrough of Cyberpunk 2077 and while I love the combat, story, and setting, I find Night City itself kinda lacking. Most buildings are locked, NPCs just stand or walk around with nothing meaningful to say, and the economy feels non-existent. Plus, a lot of city areas look pretty repetitive. I’m looking for games with really detailed urban environments or societies where currency and economy matter, you can interact with lots of NPCs, and there are cool things to find just by wandering around. What games do this best?

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is definitely one of the best when it comes to living, breathing towns and complex societies. The side quests often involve meaty storylines with cutscenes, and NPCs have schedules and can start spontaneous events you can join, like debates with priests or arguments. The game tracks your reputation, appearance, and skillchecks, which all influence how people react to you. It’s incredibly immersive if you love medieval settings.
I totally agree! KCD2 is so immersive. I’ve found myself just wandering and discovering all sorts of random but deep interactions. Reminds me of the level of detail in Red Dead Redemption 2, honestly.
