Hey everyone! I’m torn between buying GTA 4 and Undertale, as both of them are on sale right now. I know these games are super different, but they both look fun and intriguing. I’m especially curious about how they perform on the Steam Deck. I’ve heard some complaints about GTA 4’s port quality and Rockstar launcher issues – are these true? On the other hand, I haven’t played anything like Undertale before, but it looks interesting. I’ve heard it’s a 2D game, so I assume it runs well on the Deck. Just wondering if the controls are smooth and if it’s worth a try. Any advice?

Another vote for Undertale from me! It’s unique and doesn’t take a toll on your system. The controls are spot-on, making it a smooth ride on the Steam Deck. Also, don’t worry about performance—it’s a 2D game, so you hardly notice any glitches. Perfect if you enjoy speech-heavy games with interesting plotlines.
GTA 4 runs great on the Steam Deck, at least from my experience. If you’re looking for something with a longer playtime, it could be the better choice—depends on your playstyle. Undertale’s fantastic for a shorter, memorable experience though. Honestly, both have their charms, just depends on how much time you want to spend playing.
I recently played GTA 4 on my Steam Deck, and honestly, I had a smooth experience. I bought it, installed it, and just jumped in without any real issues—played through the main game and all the DLC with no problem. The Rockstar launcher wasn’t a big deal for me either. As far as being online, you’ll just need a connection every couple of weeks. I’ve not tried Undertale, so can’t comment on that.
If you haven’t played Undertale before, I’d say give it a go! It’s an absolute gem and a must-play in my opinion. Plus, it’s cheaper than GTA 4. It’s a shorter game too, which you might prefer if you’re looking for something less time-consuming. Absolutely no problem on the Deck for controls; it works like a charm.
