I’m new to the Final Fantasy series and I’m not sure where to kick things off. Should I dive into the very first game, or is there a better starting point? Also, with so many remakes available, which versions are recommended, especially since I’m a bit unfamiliar with the retro look?

If you’re starting out, I’d recommend checking out the Pixel Remaster versions of games 4 or 6. They come with some nice quality of life improvements that make them easier to enjoy. Personally, I think Final Fantasy 9 is awesome, and I’ve heard whispers of an upcoming remaster for it too! But honestly, you can start anywhere, just pick a style that appeals to you—like if you’re into the NES/SNES vibes, go for 4 or 6, while PS1 lovers often gravitate towards 7 or 9.
Sounds like a solid plan! I’m considering starting with those older versions as well. Once I figure out how to emulate CD/DVD games, I might jump into the PS1 titles since I know my modded PS2 can handle them. For now, I think I’ll start with FF4. Thanks for the tip!
