I’m currently using a Ryzen 5 5600 and a 4070 Super, with 32 GB of RAM and a 750W PSU. I’m considering upgrading my CPU and I’m looking at bundles for the 7700X, 7900X, and 7800X3D from Microcenter. My main use for the PC is gaming at 1440p, and occasionally 4K, but I also use it for some work tasks like Microsoft Office. I’m curious about the advantages of the X3D bundle. Which CPU would be the best choice for my setup? Thanks!

If you’re not planning to upgrade your GPU soon, consider investing in a good OLED monitor instead. The Ryzen 5 5600 and 4070 Super combo can handle higher resolutions pretty well.
You could opt for the 5700X3D and hold off on a full system upgrade for a few more years. At 1440p and 4K, your setup is likely to be GPU bound, but games that leverage the X3D architecture can see up to 30% better performance. For general gaming, the 1% lows really improve with the X3D though!
For gaming at 1440p, the advantages of the X3D processor diminish. At 4K, the difference is nearly negligible. I think the 7700X could be a better option for you.
I might upgrade to a 5080 or 5080S when they release, but I already have a good monitor.
