Hey everyone, I’m currently running a Ryzen 5600G paired with an RX 7800 XT and 32GB of 3200MHz RAM. I’m setting my PC up in the living room as a sorta console setup to avoid using Moonlight. I’m looking to upgrade my CPU to improve stability in performance, especially for those pesky 1% and 0.1% lows, along with the overall FPS. My gaming is focused on campaign-style single-player games, and I usually game at 4K@60/120 or 1440p@60/120—though I’m primarily focusing on 4K.
In my area, the Ryzen 5800XT is about 18% cheaper than the Ryzen 5700X3D, while the Ryzen 5700X is 30% cheaper than the 5700X3D. Based on this, what do you think would be the best CPU choice for me? Thanks for any advice!

If you’re worried about performance lows, definitely go for the X3D model—it’s optimized for better stability in that area. You’ll notice a solid improvement in your gaming experience!
If the 5800XT is on sale and it’s considerably cheaper, I’d say it’s a great deal! But honestly, for your needs, the 5700X3D is the way to go for better long-term performance.
I’m running the 5700X3D with my 7800XT, and it’s been flawless. No complaints at all—great for cinematic games!
What was your previous CPU? I’ve been rolling with the 5600G, but I’m curious about if the upgrade is worth it for campaign titles.
Totally agree! I read that the X3D really shines with single-player games, so it should suit your gaming style perfectly.
