Which CPU should I choose for my budget build with a 4060?

-

I’m trying to figure out the best CPU to pair with a 4060 for my budget build. Should I go for the Ryzen 5 5600X or the Intel i5 12400F? I’m a bit lost and would appreciate your insights!

Honestly, it’s a tough choice. Both CPUs are good, but the 12400F generally offers slightly better performance, especially in gaming. If you really want to squeeze out every frame, I’d lean towards it. Just make sure your PSU and everything can handle the GPU too!

I’d agree, but remember to factor in the price. If the Ryzen is cheaper, go for it! It’s still a solid performer.

Don’t forget to check that you grab the 16GB version of the 4060 if you can swing it! If budget is tight, the 8GB version is still fine but might limit you in some games down the line.

I can only afford the 12GB 3060 or an 8GB 4060 since I’m on a tight budget here. Which would you say I should pick for the best performance?
