I’m diving into an assassin/thief playstyle and I’m on the lookout for a companion who won’t penalize me too harshly when I go about my assassination tasks. I already have Ember lined up for my thief side, but do any companions actually boost rapport during my sneaky deeds?

You’re right, none of them boost rapport for using the Blade of Woe or anything like that. Azandar will giggle a bit when you do it, but don’t expect any friendly points! Bastian gives a tiny rapport increase for killing bandits without the Blade of Woe, while Ember appreciates when you take out wolves. Mirri’s cool with snakes too, but that’s about it in terms of rapport gains. Definitely not what you wanted to hear, huh?
Unfortunately, none of the companions actually give a boost to rapport for assassinations. Most, like Bastian and Isobel, really don’t like it when you kill anyone, so you’ll actually lose rapport with them. Ember is your best bet since she doesn’t mind killings, but she can drop a bit if you get spotted. Also, Azandar and Sharp-as-Night are chill about slaughter, but I’d avoid pickpocketing poor folks around them. I personally stick with Ember for my assassin-style play!
Sharp gets mad when you use the outfit station. His ass stays at home.
How am I supposed to know who’s poor until I pickpocket them?
