Thinking of starting Resident Evil and stuck on which character to choose? Jill or Chris? Any advice on their differences in gameplay?

it kinda depends on what you want. Jill has it a bit easier with the lockpick and more slots plus Barry helps out. Chris is tougher and youll have to manage items better but if you like hard games chris is good too. theyre both fun though.
Jill Valentine in Resident Evil offers a bit more of an accessible experience, especially if you’re newer to the game or just want a more straightforward playthrough. Here’s what you get with Jill:
Inventory Space: She has more inventory slots than Chris, which makes managing items a bit easier. This can be a lifesaver when you’re trying to balance weapons, health items, and important key items for puzzles.
Lockpick: Jill comes equipped with a Lockpick, referred to as the “Master of Unlocking,” which lets you access certain areas early on without needing a key. This can also cut down on a lot of backtracking.
Bazooka: She gets access to the Grenade Launcher (or Bazooka depending on the version), which offers powerful ammo types like explosive, incendiary, and acid rounds, making combat more manageable against tougher enemies.
Assistance from Barry: Throughout her campaign, Barry Burton helps out at several points, providing items or saving her from sticky situations, which can make things a bit easier.
Chris Redfield’s campaign, on the other hand, presents more of a challenge:
Durability: True, Chris can take more hits, making him a bit more resilient in fights, which is crucial when you can’t carry many healing items at once.
Less Inventory Space: His limited inventory slots force you to be more strategic with what you carry. Juggling weapons, health items, and key items needs careful planning and can lead to more backtracking.
No Lockpick: You’ll need Old Keys to open certain doors, meaning Chris’s route involves more item management challenges.
Assistance from Rebecca: Rebecca Chambers aids Chris by healing him at certain points and helping in specific scenarios, although she isn’t as involved as Barry is with Jill.
More Firepower Complexity: Chris starts with the Handgun and needs more effort to get advanced weapons, making combat initially tougher.
More Strategic Play: Overall, Chris has a more tactical playstyle. If you like managing tight resources and enjoy a harder challenge, he’s the way to go.
So, if you prefer a slightly easier start with more capacity to explore freely, give Jill a whirl. If you relish a tough challenge and don’t mind figuring out resource management on a tighter budget, Chris is your man. Remember, both campaigns offer unique story elements, so it’s worth playing both eventually!
Jill is good for beginners. She has more inventory slots and starts with a lockpick, which makes exploring easier. Also, youll get bazooka if playing as her. Plus her story is a bit easier especially with more saves and ammo available.
jill easier, she got lockpick & more items. chris is harder, needs help from rebecca. endings a bit different, check em
