I’m trying to figure out the best timing for renewing my PS Plus subscription this year. Last year, my subscription ended on December 5th, and I missed out on the Black Friday discount. Now, I’m on a three-month renewal plan, and my next renewal will be March 5th. I really want to take advantage of the Black Friday deals this time around. What day would you recommend I wait for to renew my subscription so that I don’t miss the Black Friday discount? By the way, I’m familiar with how long months are; I just need a heads up on the specific dates around Black Friday.

You should be good to get the discount no matter when your current subscription ends. I renewed last year during the Black Friday promo and even added another year to my plan. My subscription originally was set to end in March 2025, but with the discount, it now goes until March 2026! Just a tip: I always turn off auto-renewal after I buy the discounted year. That way, I can manage it a bit better.
It’s not really a math problem. Remember, your subscription charges will align with the day you originally subscribed each month. If you want your subscription to finish on November 30th, make sure to renew it on a day that has at least 30 days in that month. Generally, last year’s Black Friday sale kicked off on the 22nd, so I’d say aim to renew between the 25th and 30th to be safe.
Typically, the Black Friday sales run from November 11 to December 2. If you’re really keen on getting that discount, renew your three-month subscription twice, switch to a one-month plan for two months, and then go without PS Plus for around ten days. Just keep in mind that the subscription counts months, not 30-day intervals, so my one-month subscription in February was 28 days instead of 30!
