Hey fellow Helldivers, quick question—I’ve hit some confusion around when exactly I need to hit the sprint button again after my sprint has been interrupted. Sometimes I’ll be sprinting, fire my weapon, and then automatically sprint again. But there are moments after doing other actions where I have to manually initiate sprinting again. It’s led to some frustrating deaths, so I’m hoping someone can clarify what’s going on with the sprint mechanics!

Make sure to check your control settings first. If you’re not out of stamina, you should be able to sprint immediately after stopping. Try adjusting the sprint to ‘hold’ rather than tapping—makes a big difference!
It sounds like you’re experiencing some of the game’s quirks. I’ve noticed similar issues, especially when my controls feel unresponsive in tense moments. You might be hitting the buttons too many times, hoping they register. All I can say is, you’re not alone!
Totally agree—my PS5 controls can be sketchy too, especially in those panicked situations!
I get it! It’s like you need to spam the buttons just to get them to work!
Switching to ‘HOLD’ for sprint in your settings can prevent that awkward timing. As soon as any other action wraps up, it just triggers the sprint for you. It’s way less stressful!
Thanks for this tip—I’ll definitely check it out!
I have sprint set on hold, and it usually kicks in again automatically as long as I keep holding it down. Maybe you’re running low on stamina? That could definitely stop you from sprinting again.
Which settings? I’m also on PS5 and always press L3 to sprint. Thinking of switching to hold mode might help!
