Hey everyone! I’m curious if there’s any recent gameplay content or leaks suggesting Whiterun Hold might become a playable zone in ESO this year. What are your thoughts?

I think Whiterun and Winterhold are likely to be ZOS’s ‘last resort’ options if they need to boost player engagement or sales. So, I’m not holding my breath. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if we get a TESVI and an expansion for Hammerfell before we even hear a peep about Whiterun.
Some leaked Alduin-themed cosmetics hint that we might see Whiterun by 2026. But who knows? It’s hard to say for sure.
We’re moving into a new format this year, so while we do know the next chapter is on Dark Brotherhood content, anything from existing lore might be easier to add. So there’s still hope for Whiterun, just don’t expect any big announcements until next April.
There are rumors about datamined Alduin-themed content, so Whiterun could be on the way sooner than we think. Personally, I’m betting on next year since it’s the 15th anniversary of Skyrim—if they have plans for Skyrim’s regions, a release around then makes sense.
Yeah, I reckon they’ll end it in Whiterun if they do!
