I’ve noticed that Hearthstone introduced quests for each class roughly every six expansions, with Alterac Valley being the last time we saw them. I’m curious when quests might make a comeback since they feel like one of the most fun mechanics in the game. Does anyone know if there’s a pattern or any hints from upcoming expansions?

The original quests first showed up in the original Un’Goro expansion, so it’s pretty likely that Return to Un’Goro will feature them again. It fits the theme and the history with that expansion, so fingers crossed!
Honestly, the Stormwind quests annoyed me so much that I hope they never come back. They really messed with the game’s flow for me.
There wasn’t really a fixed schedule for releasing quests; the developers usually bring them back when they have a fresh take on the concept. That said, since there’s a Return to Un’Goro expansion coming after the current one, it’d be surprising if we didn’t see a new set of quests there.
Quests themselves are fun, but questlines, especially for Warrior and Hunter, made matches feel really repetitive. You’d see the same pattern over and over—play quest turn one, spam pirates, draw weapons, rinse and repeat. It got so stale that it even discouraged me from playing Wild mode since those decks flooded the meta despite not being top-tier.
With Return to Un’Goro on the horizon, it’s pretty safe to expect quests making a return soon. I really hope they add a fun quest that encourages using the Draenei tribe with Warrior—I think that’d be a cool twist!
Wait, there’s really a Return to Un’Goro? Didn’t know that!
