I’m putting together a playlist of iconic video game soundtracks that people resonate with. Besides the famous tracks from Oblivion’s “Harvest Dawn” and Skyrim’s “Secunda”, what are some other soundtracks that evoke nostalgia or just feel timeless?

Nier Gestalt has an incredible soundtrack! Emi Evans created futuristic versions of languages that she sings in. The pieces are haunting and beautiful. Also, you can’t go wrong with “Beneath The Mask” from Persona 5; it’s a true masterpiece.
Don’t forget the classics like the underground theme from Super Mario Bros. Everyone just has to join in when it starts! And speaking of iconic, the whole soundtrack of the first Doom game, especially “BFG Division”, deserves a shoutout!
The Mario theme is a total classic; it’s like an anthem for gaming itself!
For me, the theme from Halo and the intro to GoldenEye are unforgettable. And let’s not overlook themes from games like Shadow of the Colossus and The Witcher 3—those really left a mark on players.
I totally agree! The soundtrack of The Witcher 3 perfectly captures the mood of the game.
If you’re into The Elder Scrolls vibe, you should check out “Peaceful Waters” and “The Road Most Traveled” from Morrowind. Those soundtracks have such a mesmerizing atmosphere!
I’m playing Morrowind for the first time and yeah, the vibe is something else. It’s totally different from Oblivion!
You can’t go wrong with the opening theme from the first Halo; that choir is unforgettable! Also, don’t forget about “One-Winged Angel” and the Chocobo theme from Final Fantasy. Those classics just stick with you!
The Final Fantasy battle theme is the ultimate earworm; it truly never leaves my mind!
Absolutely, the whole Nier soundtrack is just next level!
