I’m really hoping Game Freak will spice things up by introducing some dual-type starters! I think it would give Grass types much-deserved love. Sure, dual types could end up being overpowered, but Pokémon starters have never been the most balanced to begin with. I’d love to see dual types added in later evolutions, similar to a few of the starters we already have. So, what dual-type starter would you choose?

I’m all in for Fire/Water! The balance of offense and defense is incredible with that combo. Fire types hit hard and Water types offer a solid defense. So, if Gamefreak doesn’t flop, this could be a powerhouse starter!
Water/Grass is super interesting because it has unique weaknesses compared to standard Water types. Plus, Ludicolo is a fun pick with this type! But Fire/Water could definitely be a game-changer by covering weaknesses with just one Pokémon!
Some starters are already dual-type! For instance, Rowlet is Grass/Flying and Bulbasaur is Grass/Poison. It’s cool that we’re already seeing some diversity from the get-go!
Honestly, it all boils down to design for me. I’d love a Fire/Grass evolutionary line inspired by Majora’s Mask, or perhaps a quirky Water/Grass giant salamander! Both sound awesome!
I’m definitely leaning towards Fire/Water, but mainly because I want to see how the final evolution looks. If it looks great, I’m on board, but aesthetics are key for my choice!
Just hoping the Fire/Water doesn’t end up looking like Incineroar’s regional form. That would be a letdown!
