I’ve been playing Minecraft on my Switch lately, and I’m really frustrated. It’s my only console right now and I love the game, but the experience has been pretty awful. The lag is extremely bad, and loading times are ridiculous. To make matters worse, the world generation just seems broken. I’ve spawned in worlds that are all acacia forests with no variety, and it feels like I’m just stuck in a single biome. No matter how many worlds I create, they all end up being similar, even when I try using biome templates. I’ve gone through six worlds already, and it’s disheartening because I used to play on Xbox 360 without these problems. Minecraft has been around for a long time, so I don’t understand why the Switch version is struggling this much.

Exactly, the Switch is a low-end device designed for casual games. Modern Minecraft just pushes its limits too far. If you’re looking for a smoother experience, you might want to consider upgrading at some point.
Honestly, the Switch is on the older side compared to other consoles. It struggles to run new, demanding games smoothly. Plus, optimization plays a big role in how well it performs. It might not handle the newer Minecraft features as well as other platforms.
The lag and slow loading times are pretty much due to the Switch’s outdated hardware. It’s essentially an eight-year-old handheld designed to be cost-effective and low-power, so it can’t really compete with modern gaming devices. As for the world generation, it’s random across all platforms, so the bad seeds you’ve come across are just unfortunate luck and aren’t related to the Switch itself. Plus, remember that the Xbox 360 version had a lot less content and features.
Same here, I only experience lag when I’m in split screen or when someone has a ton of tamed dogs in their realm. It’s pretty much bearable otherwise, but, yeah, we all know it’s an older system. Just gotta deal with it.
Yeah, but I heard that with some hacks, you can run Minecraft Java on the Switch and it works fine. So maybe it’s more of a Bedrock problem?
