Hey everyone! I just started playing GW2 (and loving it, by the way), and I’ve been tackling the story in chronological order. Now I’ve reached Living World Season 3, and I’m a bit puzzled about how much time actually passes after the events of Heart of Thorns, especially after Eir died. The in-game menu says HoT happens in 1328, while LWS3 kicks off in 1329. However, during a memorial in Hoelbrak, Rox mentions tracking down Garm after the chaos in the jungle, suggesting it feels like it should all be happening in 1328. I’ve seen mixed answers online, with some saying it’s roughly a year apart. I also wonder if this timeline makes more sense if you were playing during the original release. Could someone clarify this for me? Thanks!

From my perspective playing through the story, it felt like maybe 4-6 months passed, which isn’t unusual after such intense events. I mean, Garm is pretty resourceful. It’s entirely possible Rox took some time to track him down, maybe even a month or two due to the jungle’s dangers. As for Braham, grief isn’t linear; he might have been keeping busy with hunting or other tasks rather than just moping around. Remember, after the craziness of HoT, there would be a significant cleanup duty for the Pact as well, which could have taken a while before anyone could focus on personal issues like looking for Garm or planning memorials.
Yeah, I totally get that perspective! It makes sense that there would be a lot to do post-HoT. I just wish the timeline felt a bit clearer, especially with character interactions.
